This device, which is essentially a bearing-mounted handwheel fitted with a chuck, enables long wires to be gripped near their end and turned to produce a thread with our thread roller – a quantum leap forward, in terms of production.  You simply apply the thread roller to the end of the turning wire to produce a clean, coarse thread quickly and efficiently.  Longer threads can also be produced by moving the wire on a bit through the chuck.  It is also ideal for turning leather buttons onto existing threads.
