Throat lozenges for sore throats

To repair and professionally clean reed throats, it is necessary to detach them from the reed nut. The appropriate tools are often not available on site. This reed slot removal set, compiled by organ builder Ludger Wiemers, provides a professional setup with the right tools for reed slots of all sizes, from the smallest to the largest.

The sturdy, collapsible stand made of plywood with a V-shaped opening for various throat diameters and a matching collection box forms the basis for efficient and gentle separation of the throats from the nuts. Various cylindrical metal pins with diameters of 6/8/10/12/14/16/18/20 and 25 mm are available as extractors. To ensure that tongues in nuts with a soldered shaft or, in the case of smaller tongues, a brazed cup can be reached, the extractors can be extended to approx. 130 cm using various threaded extensions. Additionally, two screw-on handles are available for diameters of 10 mm and larger.

As of June 2026 , only a few disassemblable core pullers with a catch box remain from the last batch. As core pullers, you can use our set small cylindrical pipe forms consisting of 500 mm long steel rods in diameters D=2/3/4/5/6/8/10/12/14/16/18/20 mm.

If you are interested in the original set, please let us know for a possible future small production run. If there is sufficient interest, we would produce new complete sets on a pre-order basis. As of June 2026, the total price will be approximately 500 euros excluding VAT.
