Sound meter BASIC

The basic measuring instrument for sound measurements. Ideal for loudness measurements in production rooms, offices, on machines, road noise, construction noise and in organ building for testing sound development in the room, etc.

The handy, easy-to-use meter measures in the range of 30 - 130 dB. Digital display with a resolution of 0.1 dB. Accuracy 3% of the maximum value. Internal and external calibration possible. In addition to special measuring functions (see operating instructions), the instrument also has an internal memory for 30 measured values, which can also be read out on a PC via an optional cable and software for RS 232C. However, the internal memory can be read out at any time on the instrument.

Supplied with windscreen (foam ball for micro) incl. 4 AAA batteries. Size 236 x 63 x 26 mm, weight 170 g.

Here's some more info on volume measurements:In medicine, the threshold for possible hearing damage is considered to be a noise exposure of 85 decibels (dB), the pain threshold is 120 to 130 dB - which is roughly equivalent to the noise of a jet taking off at a distance of 100 meters. In homes, the typical noise level is 40 to 50 dB, in offices up to 65 dB. Road traffic quickly reaches 85 dB, discos and rock concerts are often much louder at up to 110 dB than a jackhammer at 100 dB - each three decibels more doubles the strain on the ear.
