Volume meter with data logger

from 31.5 Hz to 8000 Hz. With this professional sound level meter you can make a wide variety of volume measurements. The instrument has a precision condenser microphone and a calibration circuit for adjusting the instrument with a separate calibrator.

Measuring range 30 - 130 dB in 3 ranges with autom. switching
Frequency 31.5 Hz - 8 kHz
Accuracy +/- 1.5 dB
Display 0,1 dB

Due to the measured value memory for 32000 measured values and the USB interface for data transfer to the PC and the enclosed evaluation software for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP, you can also record the measured values over longer periods and evaluate them on the PC. Delivery incl. battery, case and wind protection ball for microphone

Here is some more information about volume measurements: The threshold for possible hearing damage in medicine is considered to be a noise exposure of 85 decibels (dB), the pain threshold is 120 to 130 dB - this is roughly equivalent to the noise of a jet taking off at a distance of 100 meters. In homes, the typical noise level is 40 to 50 dB, in offices up to 65 dB. Road traffic quickly reaches 85 dB, discos and rock concerts are often much louder at up to 110 dB than a jackhammer at 100 dB - every three decibels more doubles the strain on the ear.

When measuring noise, please note that the human ear perceives noise differently depending on the time of day. Noise at night or during quiet times is perceived much more disturbing, even though it has the same decibel value as at times with more ambient noise.

With this device you get good info and comparative values, which you can also record over time by the data logger. In legal disputes, however, usually only measured values from publicly sworn experts are recognized.
