Stainless steel pulp disk
New pulp washer made of stainless steel for sealing windchest trigger wires. Also useful for replacing lead pulleys with lining. This washer is always supplied separately as a stainless steel washer and a sealing and guide washer for gluing before or during installation.
The advantage of this pulp washer is that the inner hole of the Liegelind sealing and guide washer is adapted to the wire diameter. The stainless steel washer has a larger hole (approx. 6.5 mm) and is therefore independent of the drain wire.
We offer the sealing and guide disk made of Liegelind cloth with two different inner holes. Inner holes. Diameter 1.8 mm for wires from 1.5 - 1.65 mm and 2.2 mm for diameters up to 2.0 mm. Another advantage of this type is that trigger wires with threaded ends can be pushed through without any problems. The minimal air between the wire and the edge of the inner hole does not cause any noticeable wind noise. During installation, however, care must be taken to ensure that the hole is not widened by bends such as hooks or a thread on the trigger wire. In such cases, always thread the sealing washer and the stainless steel washer separately and only fix the stainless steel washer to the sealing washer in the wind box.
The pulp disk made of stainless steel with a height of 5 mm is neutral and heavy enough even under problematic ambient conditions. Changes in humidity are not expected to alter the inner hole compared to pure felt, leather or cashmere cloth. To prevent the stainless steel washer from slipping, it must be permanently glued to the sealing and guide washer, at least in points. This can be done before or during installation.
The standard diameter of 20 mm with a stainless steel washer of 18 mm is suitable for most trigger pitches. If a smaller diameter is required due to a narrow pitch, we can offer you a stainless steel washer with a diameter of 10 mm and double the height at 10 mm on request. You can then modify the sealing washer with D = 20 mm supplied by us to fit the required outside diameter yourself. Due to the double height, this stainless steel washer has almost the same weight as the standard size.
Please note when using this new pulp technology:
1. There is still no long-term experience regarding the matching burnt hole in the sealing washer.
2. with windchests whose windboxes are very close to the console, a slight unavoidable blowing noise can be disturbing.
3. we must exclude the guarantee for any problems that may arise during use.
In general, we recommend that you test the windchest before installing all of the disks.
